Huntley Park District Statement on Results of Bond Referendum Request

Huntley, IL – November 4, 2024 – A majority of Huntley Park District residents answered “yes” to the bond referendum request to raise revenue to improve, equip and maintain parks and facilities, including the renovation and addition of new amenities and playgrounds at several District parks.

The following resident-identified projects will be funded through the bond:

  • Updating and Improving
    • Deicke Park and Tomaso Sports Park
    • REC Center
    • Accessibility at parks and facilities
    • Pinecrest Golf Course
    • Borhart, Ruth Ol’Timers and Parisek parks
  • Purchasing new land for future Park District use
  • Adding New Amenities
    • Pickleball, tennis and basketball courts
    • Outdoor fitness equipment
    • Golf entertainment
    • Artificial turf ballfields and batting cages
    • Paved trails and shade trees
    • Splash pad to Stingray Bay
    • Amenities to Dog Park amenities at Regency Square
  • Developing vacant lot in Talamore into park

“Our residents have been integral to this process from the beginning,” said Keith Wold, President of Huntley Park District Board of Commissioners. “Their feedback during our Strategic Master Plan process in 2022 and 2023, and through surveys and discussion groups directly shaped these projects, and it was essential that residents have the final decision.”

The Park District will begin planning and contractor interviews as early as spring 2025.

“We’re thrilled to bring this shared vision to life,” said Scott Crowe, Executive Director for the Huntley Park District. “This is their vision, and we will continue to engage with residents as we refine designs and finalize project details.”
