As of Friday, June 11 the State of Illinois will be entering Phase 5 of the Restore Illinois Plan.  While most restrictions have been lifted there are still some in place, specifically for those unvaccinated.  Because a large amount of Huntley Park District customers we serve are children under 12 who are not able to be vaccinated, some restrictions are still in place.

Please review the following health and safety guidance that will be in place at the Huntley Park District:

  1. There are no longer capacity restrictions imposed by the State of Illinois.  Even though there may not be capacity limits with certain activities, class maximums may not change immediately due to previous programming plans.
  2. In all outdoor settings and activities, face coverings are no longer required.  While masks may not be required in some settings, we ask our customers to continue to be respectful of those who may still choose to wear them.
  3. At indoor settings, unvaccinated individuals, including children under 12, must continue to wear a face covering.
  4. For Preschool, face coverings are still required of all participants and staff while indoors, regardless of vaccination status as required by DCFS.  This includes anyone inside the physical preschool room.  Masks are not required by anyone in this program outdoors.
  5. For Summer Day Camp, face coverings are still required of all participants while indoors.  Indoors also includes buses for field trips where all riders must wear a mask.
  6. Please observe posted signs indoors at Park District Facilities.
  7. Please continue to bring a mask in case you find your self in a place that requires it.
  8. The COVID-restricted capacity limit of 700 at Stingray Bay will be lifted and the full 1,100 capacity limit will be enforced if/when it applies.
  9. Should you see park district staff without face coverings, please note that per the most recent guidelines published on May 18, 2021 by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunities (DCEO), park district staff who are fully vaccinated are able to provide service to our customers without the use of face coverings. 
  10. All customers and staff must review and conduct the Self-Assessment Health and Safety Screening before each day of their activity.
  11. If a participant has symptoms of COVID-19
    1. Participant should not enter premises until they have had no fever for at least 72 hours, other symptoms have improved, and at least 10 days have passed since their symptoms first appeared.
    2. If symptoms appear during an activity that individual will be sent home until the criteria above has been met.
  12. If a participant is in “close contact” with someone with COVID-19 (Close contact is defined as household contacts, intimate contacts, or contacts within 6-ft. for a cumulative time of 15 minutes or longer within a 24-hour period)
    1. Participant should notify Park District
    2. Participants are encouraged to seek medical attention from their doctor.
    3. Participant should quarantine for 14 days after the last/most recent contact with the infectious individual, or 10 days if there have no symptoms, and are encouraged to get a COVID-19 test at a state or local government testing center, healthcare center or other testing locations.
    4. Park District will seek guidance from local health department on additional communication and action to be taken.  Please see more information on how the Park District will respond when notified of a "close contact" or positive case of COVID-19.
  13. If a participant or employee is diagnosed with COVID-19:
    1. Please inform the Park District
    2. If participant does contract COVID-19, they should remain isolated at home for a minimum of 10 days after symptom onset and can be released after feverless and feeling well (without fever-reducing medication) for at least 72 hours OR has 2 negative COVID-19 tests in a row, with testing done at least 24 hours apart.
    3. Park District will seek guidance from local health department on additional communication and action to be taken.  Please see more information on how the Park District will respond when notified of a "close contact" or positive case of COVID-19.
By entering HPD spaces without a face covering, you are verifying truthfully that you have been fully vaccinated.  Children under 12 are not yet eligible for vaccinations so they must wear a mask when attending an indoor facility.

*Individuals are considered fully vaccinated 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine. Individuals who do not meet these requirements, regardless of age, are not considered fully vaccinated.
