Huntley, IL – November 1, 2024 – The Huntley Park District is proud to announce its recent completion of the rigorous review process for the Illinois Association of Park Districts (IAPD) and Illinois Park and Recreation Association (IPRA) Distinguished Accreditation. This achievement reflects the District’s commitment to excellence in public service, community engagement, and operational standards, positioning it as a benchmark agency not only in the State of Illinois but also on a national level.

This extensive review process, recognized as a benchmark of excellence, evaluates an agency’s internal procedures, training standards, community engagement, and various other performance metrics. As part of the final onsite review, a group of esteemed industry professionals thoroughly assessed the District’s operations, evaluated evidence of accreditation standards, toured physical facilities, and provided recommendations for future improvements.

During this meticulous review, the Huntley Park District earned a preliminary score qualifying for accreditation, signifying its alignment with the high standards set forth by IAPD/IPRA. The District's staff and Board eagerly anticipate the final approval of this review, set for November 25.

“We are incredibly proud to have undertaken this thorough accreditation process,” said the District's Executive Director, Scott Crowe. “It affirms our commitment to delivering high-quality services to the Huntley community and represents a significant milestone for our agency.”
